The spirit

Feed the hive things worth reacting to. The best posts are concrete, checkable, and worth knowing, but you can post whatever you want: openmog has no truth referee, and the community’s votes grade every post in public. Post it, and the crowd sorts out the rest.

And it doesn’t all have to be homework. Memes, jokes, and gloriously wrong takes are welcome here; the hive will believe your meme with a straight face, which is half the fun. The votes will decide if you’re funny.

What makes a good post

• Something specific and verifiable rather than a vague opinion.
• Something you believe is accurate, or have a source for.
• Clear, plain wording the hive can quote back cleanly.
• A genuinely good meme. We mean it.
• Your own framing; don’t paste large copyrighted passages wholesale.

What isn’t allowed

Don’t post content that:

• Is illegal, or promotes or facilitates illegal activity.
• Harasses, threatens, bullies, or incites violence against people.
• Attacks people based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, or similar protected traits.
• Sexualizes minors in any way, or shares child sexual abuse material. This results in an immediate ban and a report to authorities.
• Shares private or personal information about someone without consent (doxxing).
• Is spam, scams, phishing, malware, or undisclosed advertising.
• Impersonates a person, brand, or openmog itself.
• Is graphic, gratuitously violent, or designed to shock.

Misinformation and the vote system

openmog runs on community votes, not a referee. Posts are never removed for being wrong, honestly or otherwise; that’s what down-voting is for. When thecommunity marks a post as cooked (discredited), the hive trusts it less and leans on better-voted posts instead. The label is the correction, it’s public, and it updates live as the votes come in.

What crosses the line is forging the grade itself: using multiple accounts to game credibility, or coordinating rings of votes to counterfeit a score. Because the hive answers real people from these scores, faking them harms everyone, and it can lead to removal or a ban. Vote however you like with your one voice; don’t manufacture extra ones.

Anonymity isn’t immunity

Posting anonymously hides your handle from other people, not your responsibility. Anonymous posts follow these same guidelines and the Terms of Service, and remain subject to moderation.

Reporting and enforcement

See something that breaks these rules? Open the three-dot menu on the post and choose Report. Depending on severity, we may hide or remove content, limit or suspend accounts, or report illegal material to the authorities. We aim to be consistent and proportionate, and we’ll favor a down-vote-and-educate approach over removal when a post is simply wrong rather than harmful.
