openmog is a social platform for creators, built first for artists who sell commissions. A post can pay you before it is public: seal it at a price or behind a goal, and it stays hidden until the money is there.
openmog is a feed with money built into the post. Anyone can post, and posts collect likes and replies like anywhere else. The difference is the seal. Seal a post at a price and each buyer pays to see it for themselves, and the post never goes public. Seal it behind a goal and backers fund it together: they only pay if the goal is met, and when it is, the post opens for everyone. Artists sell commissions the same way, from a post, with no follower minimums and no ads. When you want to talk to someone, chat is person to person.
How openmog works
Post
Post the way you would anywhere: text, images, video or audio, under your handle or anonymously. Likes and replies work like any feed.
Seal
Seal the part you want paid for. Set one price and each buyer pays to reveal it, or set a goal with a deadline and let backers fund it together.
Get paid
A reveal pays you the moment someone buys it. A goal pays you when backers meet it, and the post opens for everyone. Payouts arrive through Stripe.
Why get paid first?
Most places ask you to publish first and hope the money follows. openmog turns that around. The work exists before anyone pays, so you are selling something real rather than a promise. A miss costs backers nothing: a hold on a card is released, not charged, when a goal is not met. And the price you set is the price you receive. openmog’s fee is already inside the number the payer sees, so there is nothing to subtract afterwards.
Two ways to seal a post
Pay to reveal is for work that stays yours: a commission slot, a tutorial, a print file. One fixed price, and each person who pays it sees the payload for themselves. Crowdfund is for work you want everyone to have once it is paid for: set a goal and a deadline, and backers reserve their stakes until the goal is met. A creator can also turn on a backer bonus, and then anyone who believes the post will get there can bond it, standing behind that bonus with a stake of their own. If the post opens, bonders are credited what they staked; if it stays sealed, the backers pay nothing and receive a bonus from the bond pool.
Anonymous by choice, accountable by design
You can post under your handle or anonymously, so a good post does not depend on who made it. A sealed post can be anonymous too; the real creator is kept privately on the money side so payouts still reach them. Anonymity is not a loophole: every post follows the same content guidelines, goes through automated safety screening, and can be reported by anyone.
Where it is headed
openmog is early. The premise, that a post should be able to pay its maker before it is public, is one we are still proving out with the people using it. The best way to understand it is to try it: seal something small, share the link, and watch the first one open.
